Privacy Policy

During registration, Handprinter only collects your name, email address, and country. During your use of the platform you also have the option to upload a photo (or other image). During use of the platform you have the option to take, suggest, and propose new actions. During use of the platform you have the option to change at any time how this information is shared (or not) with other users of the platform. And at any time, you may opt to delete your account, in which case all of your personal data will all be deleted. Information use within the platform and how to control it are described in more detail below.

Email address: We use your email address ONLY in order to communicate with you in situations such as re-setting your password, and to enable your friends and colleagues who also use Handprinter to send you information such as action suggestions. We will not otherwise share your email with any person or organization.

Name: We use your name ONLY to personalize your user experience, and to refer to you in the network diagram of Handprinter users to whom you have allowed access to read your name, and to refer to you in news feeds to about actions being taken by Handprinter users, to users to whom you have allowed access to read your name. We will not otherwise share it with any person or organization.

We use your country in order to estimate your footprint. To Handprinter users with whom you have not shared access to your name, we will simply refer to you as “A user in [your country].”\nWe will not share your country location with any person or organization.

Actions: During use, Handprinter stores information that you submit about actions that you take or suggest, and action ideas that you submit. The sole purposes for which this information are: to encourage you and others to take such positive actions, and relatedly to assess the impacts of actions taken by members of the handprinting community. Information about actions taken is shared in news feeds with other Handprinter users. We will not use it for other purposes nor otherwise share it with any person or organization.

Photo: You may opt to upload a photo or other image by which you may be associated, for sharing within the platform. We use this image ONLY to personalize your user experience, and to provide a unique visual reference to you in the network diagram of Handprinter users to whom you have allowed access to view this image, and when referring to you in news feeds about actions being taken by Handprinter users, to users to whom you have allowed access to view this image. It is also used to help personalize email messages that you choose to send from within the platform. We will not otherwise share it with any person or organization.

Controlling Information Sharing: You can control which users are allowed to see your name, photo, and dashboard within the platform. You can make changes to these settings at any time.

Deleting your Account: You can also choose to delete your account and terminate use of Handprinter at any time. If you delete your account, then Handprinter deletes all your personal data: Your name, password, country location, and photo. Handprinter will no longer retain this information. All that will remain is an unnamed node in the causal network, with a record of the actions that this unnamed person took. This information is retained because it contributes to the handprints of other people who directly or indirectly caused the actions that you took.
